Why it is NICE to have goals.
About setting goals that are NICE and why does it matter.

As we venture further into the new year, it's a perfect time to take a moment to revisit and refine our goals. It's an essential practice to occasionally step back, assess the objectives we've set, and determine if they still align with our evolving vision and aspirations.
This year, I've had two transformative realizations about goal setting. The first is the importance of focusing on fewer goals. As someone who is typically drawn to endless lists, this shift in approach was a significant game-changer. It enabled me to channel my energy into a select few goals, rather than scattering my efforts across a multitude of tasks. However, it's not enough to merely have goals - creating systems and habits that support these goals is equally crucial.
My second realization was the discovery of a new framework for setting goals - the NICE framework. For quite some time, the widely accepted SMART goal-setting framework didn't quite resonate with me. But this year, I was introduced to the NICE framework by Ali Abdaal, author of 'Feel-Good Productivity.' This innovative approach to goal setting provides goals that are Near term, Input-based, Controllable, and Energizing.
Since adopting the NICE method, I've noticed a substantial change in my path forward. I'm enjoying the journey more, feeling energized by my goals rather than burdened by them, and I have a heightened sense of confidence in my ability to achieve them.
Remember, it's never too late to refine your goals. As we continue through the year, let's strive for fewer, more meaningful goals that truly align with our individual identities and what we aspire to achieve. Let's make this a NICE year!
